Great one-day course for beginning packers, $250 per person, includes lunch.
LOCATION: Harmony, NC. TIME: 9 AM to 4 PM.
COURSE INFO: This is a great course for anyone interested in learning more about packing mules. We’ll go over the basics of mule packing, anatomy, information about pack saddles and the equipment used, grooming and saddling, and how to balance and tie on loads. Participants will also learn to safely lead pack animals, and we’ll go over considerations when packing in the backcountry.
OCTOBER 17-18: OVERNIGHT MULE PACKING / FIELDCRAFT
Overnight course for beginning packers, with emphasis on skills and knowledge needed for camping with livestock and creating a backcountry camp. $450, includes meals.
LOCATION: Harmony, NC.
** Perfect for those who have completed the Intro to Mule Packing course, or have equivalent experience.
