Day of Learning and Giving with Landrum High’s Interact Club

What a day! We had the absolute pleasure of hosting the Interact Club from Landrum High School for a fun and meaningful afternoon at Mountain Mule Packers. These students aren’t just smart and curious – they’re also deeply committed to helping others.

Each year, the Interact Club takes on three service projects: one local, one national, and one global. For their national project this year, they chose to support our nonprofit, Mission Mules, and we couldn’t be more honored. These teens raised $300, which they used to purchase cleaning supplies and mold cleaner – much-needed items for families dealing with the aftermath of recent flooding in multiple states.

During their visit, we held a two-hour class focused on mules, packing techniques, and the unique role these incredible animals play in disaster relief. The students asked fantastic questions, especially about how our mules helped out following Hurricane Helene. It was clear they really wanted to understand the “why” and “how” behind what we do – and we loved that!

Their enthusiasm, respect, and genuine interest made the entire day fly by. Big cheers to the teaching staff at Landrum High School for leading such a great group of young people. The future is looking bright with students like these in it.

If you know of a school or community group that might be interested in a short, hands-on class about mules, packing, and service, reach out! We love connecting with the next generation of helpers and leaders.

To the Interact Club: You were a joy to teach and a big help to many. Come visit again soon!
